Liam and Noel Gallagher to unite for Oasis documentary

Liam and Noel Gallagher are to be reunited on the big screen after agreeing to star in a film about Oasis.

The brothers, who fronted the group, have agreed to share their favourite memories and offer their insight in interviews for Mat Whitecross’s documentary movie. The band’s record label, Big Brother Recordings, will grant the film-makers access to archives.

The film, produced by director Asif Kapadia and James Gay-Rees who made Amy, the film about the late singer Amy Winehouse, will offer “a rare and candid insight” into the group and document Oasis’s early beginnings when Noel first joined his brother Liam’s band in 1991.

고故 에이미 와인하우스에 대한 영화 <에이미>를 만든 아지프 카파디아 감독과 제임스 게이-리스는, 노엘이 1991년 리암의 밴드에 들어올 무렵의 초기 오아시스의 시작에 대한 "흔치 않고 솔직한 관점"을 드러낼 예정이다.

It will chart their rise to fame when their first album, Definitely Maybe, became the fastest selling debut in British history when it was released in 1994 and follow the siblings as they landed eight UK No 1 singles and eight UK No 1 albums until their acrimonious split in 2009.

영화는 그들의 첫 앨범인, Definitely Maybe이 1994년 발매 당시 영국 역사상 가장 빠르게 팔린 데뷔 앨범이 되었을 당시와 이후 2009년 험악한 해체가 있기 전까지 8개의 영국 차트 1위 싱글 앨범과 또 다른 8개의 영국 차트 1위 정규 앨범들을 발매하게 되는 그들의 성공가도를 기록하게 된다.

The film, which scheduled for release in 2016, will feature Oasis’s two-night residency at Knebworth Park in 1996, when they played to 250,000 fans.

영화는, 2016년 개봉을 예정하고 있으며, 1996년 오아시스가 250,000명의 팬들 앞에서 공연했던, 2일간의 넵워스 공원 공연이 포함될 예정이다.

Renowned documentary director Asif Kapadia is to work on a new film charting the rise of Oasis, reports Deadline.

유명 다큐멘터리 감독 아지프 카파디아가 최근 오아시스의 성공을 다룬 다큐멘터리를 제작 중이다.

Kapadia recently helmed the Amy Winehouse documentary Amy, and also directed the hugely successful 2010 Ayrton Senna film Senna. He will act as executive director above the Spike Island director Mat Whitecross, while James Gay-Rees of production company On The Corner is also involved.

카파디아는 최근 에이미 와인하우스의 다큐멘터리 <에이미>를 감독했으며, 또한 2010년 가장 성공적이었던 아일톤 세나의 영화 <세나>를 감독하기도 했다. 그는 <Spike Island>*의 감독이었던 맷 화이트크로스** 감독의 제작자로 참여할 예정이며, 프로덕션 회사 On The Corner 사의 제임스 게이-리스***도 함께할 것으로 전해졌다.

Filmmakers are reported to have gained ‘unprecedented’ access to the Oasis archives, including previously unseen footage, in order to tell the story of the band from its earliest days to the release of debut album ‘Definitely Maybe‘ in 1994.

제작자들은 1994년 데뷔 앨범 Definitely Maybe 발매 당시 밴드의 초기 시절 이야기를 다루기 위해, 이전에 한번도 공개된 적 없는 영상들을 포함한, 오아시스 아카이브에 '전례 없이' 접근할 수 있는 자격을 얻었다고 전해졌다.
